Happier Hours Literary Salons

Happier Hours Literary Salons are monthly gatherings that feature contemporary writers of fiction and nonfiction in an intimate conversation about their work. Started in New York City in 2010 by Aidan Donnelley Rowley, and now with an outpost in Los Angeles, each salon brings together an eclectic, intellectually curious group of women for discussions about great books and big ideas.

The salon was inspired by the theory that fostering opportunities for real life connection in our increasingly digital world makes us all happier. It was also driven by our belief that reading great books is a critical part of living a fulfilling life. Our salons provide a chance for new and seasoned authors of diverse fiction and non-fiction books to connect with longtime fans and new readers. They are a time for attendees to press pause on their busy lives and spend an evening engaged in intellectually-sating discussions about big ideas. They are a time to converse, connect and be inspired.
